June 8, 2010 The Liquistation CSF48 automatic stationary sampler from Endress+Hauser takes liquid samples from process streams, stores them in plastic or glass bottles for sample preservation and later analysis, and can perform up to two on-line analyses at the measuring point. Using Endress+Hausers Memosens sensors, measurements available include nitrates, conductivity, oxygen, pH or ORP, and turbidity. Other sensors are available on a custom basis.

June 8, 2010 Emerson Process Management received two contracts to modernize controls at the Ekibastuz GRES-1 thermal power plant with its PlantWeb digital plant architecture and Ovation expert control system. The largest power plant in Kazakhstan, the 4,000-MW facility produces 13 percent of the countrys power. It is located in Ekibastuz, the industrial center of a bituminous coal-mining basin that has coal reserves estimated at 8 billion tons
June 8, 2010 ABB appointed Michael Mahfet vice president and general manager of its robotics business in North American, according to Rick Hepperla, regional president of ABBs Discrete Automation & Motion division. Mahfet, who joined ABB on May 13, 2010, will lead the North American robotics business based in Auburn Hills, MI and will focus on the strategic development and continued profitable growth of the business in the region. Prior to joining ABB, Mahfet served as the general manager of global sales of the Sensing & Inspection Technologies unit of General Electric (GE)

The ZigBee Alliance is a global ecosystem of companies creating wireless solutions for use in energy management, commercial and consumer applications, and the SunSpec Alliance was formed to accelerate the growth of the renewable energy industry through standardization of monitoring and management interfaces for energy system components.
