AGME offers special modules for crimping tubes

Industrias AGME has included a new custom made module into one of its PH-15 hydraulic presses, according to a news on the website of AFM – Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association of Spain.The module is included into the PH-15 press together with several hydraulic units with their axles, individual dies and a mechanical buffer. Also among its components there are hydraulic pumps, tools, pneumatic elements, electrical elements and units for the automatic removal of pieces.

Mazak to host two-week manufacturing event in US this fall

2010 stats confirm global steel surge

The Brussels, Belgium-based World Steel Association has released global steel metrics for 2010 in its 2011 edition of World Steel in Figures. TORONTO —Output and new order growth weakened further in June in Canada’s manufacturing sector, according to RBC’s Canadian Manufacturing Purchasing Manager’s Index (RBC PMI). The report finds only modest improvements in new orders and output within the Canadian manufacturing in June.

Renishaw announces expansion plans at multiple locations

The UK-based engineering company Renishaw announced on June 27 that it is to launch a series of initiatives designed to provide the additional capacity required for its anticipated business growth over the longer term regarding its measurement and healthcare products.These include the acquisition of the soon to be vacant Bosch manufacturing facility, located to the west of Cardiff, Wales, and the submission of planning applications to extend three of its existing facilities in Gloucestershire, according to Renishaw’s press release.The Bosch manufacturing facility, located in Miskin, South Wales, offers 461,000 sq ft of existing factory space, including a 10,000 sq ft clean room facility, on a 193 acre site. Renishaw exchanged contracts on June 24 to acquire this site, which will be completed on September 30.Sir David McMurtry, Renishaw’s Chairman and Chief Executive, said, “This is a rare opportunity to acquire a high quality manufacturing facility in a location that has excellent transport links and a local population with skills relevant to our business. Whilst it is too early to say exactly what products will ultimately be manufactured in Wales, any employment created at the site will not be at the expense of permanent jobs in Gloucestershire.”Renishaw is in discussions with Stroud District Council regarding a possible extension to its headquarters site at New Mills near Wotton-under-Edge where it is seeking modifications to existing planning consent to allow a phased development of up to 225,000 sq ft.

New Haas super-speed rotary table for high-speed machines

Haas has launched a new super-speed rotary table-HRT160SS for high-speed machines according to the company’s press release on June 29.The new HRT160SS super-speed rotary table provides indexing speeds up to 570~/second. In addition, oil patterns are optimized to reduce drag, the brake system modified for faster response, and acceleration/deceleration rates increased to cut cycle times. According to Hass, the HRT160SS is more than four times faster than the standard HRT160 rotary table.
