According to news on the website of AFM – the Spanish Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, Spanish cutting line manufacturer Athader has received new orders from Eastern Europe, indicating that it now has a stronger presence in the area. As reported, these news orders were mainly from Polish companies and included a cut-to-length line 2000 x 12 which will include a continuous cutting and processing system based on a flying shear and a double station bomb-door stacker. Maximum working speed is 45m per minute while a noticeable feature is the elimination of stoppage between different stacks of sheet formats.A slitting line 2000 x 10 with working speed up to 200m per minute were also included.It is reported that 90% of Athader’s sales is from its business, following the opening up of new markets in Europe, South America and Centra America.

CALGARY: Positive business conditions in Canada are giving oil and gas companies the confidence to invest this year, although rising inflationary pressures could crimp their plans, says an Ernst & Young report. Of the 1,000 worldwide company executives polled by the global consulting firm, 75% said they are more optimistic about prospects in 2011. “With political unrest in the Middle East putting pressure on companies to develop energy sources in new regions, and economic growth amplifying global demand, it’s no surprise that the vast majority of oil and gas companies are on the prowl for new growth opportunities,” said Kevan Holroyd, executive director in Ernst & Young’s Oil & Gas Transaction Advisory Services group.
The pre-recession boom years saw Asian countries emerge as the world’s manufacturing workshops, with consumers in America and Europe buying enormous quantities of their attractively priced offerings, driving astounding Asian economic growth. Conventional wisdom predicted, however, that when the financial meltdown ended the debt fuelled shopping spree, Asian growth would come to a halt. It hasn’t happened: Asian economies, led by China, have remained strong.
