Fractional Horsepower Motors for Treadmills

The Bosch i-Business Group (Broadview, IL) has several different models of fractional horsepower DC electric motors that can be used to quietly raise and lower the angle of incline on treadmills for a more robust physical workout. Features of one of these motors, the 24-volt, 750-watt Bosch GPA motor, include:

A direction of rotation that can be set to rotate either left or right.

A nominal torque of 2.2 Nm and breakaway torque of 11 Nm.

A motor’s nominal current rated at 40.0 amps and a nominal speed of 3300 min-1.

A weight of 3.80 kg.
