Offshore Wind China 2011 Conference & Exhibition unveiled in Shanghai
Asia’s biggest and the world’s second largest exhibition of its kind, Offshore Wind China 2011 Conference & Exhibition was unveiled yesterday (June 15) in Shanghai. According to the organizers, this year the event is three times bigger than the last edition, with an area of 15,000sq ms.
Industry giants including Sinovel, Vestas Wind System A/S, Siemens and Shanghai Electric take part in this exhibition.
Wind power has been an area of concern worldwide and offshore wind power is the most advanced aspect in this area. More than 100 countries, mainly in Europe, Asia and North America, have started generating electricity using wind power.
China has been developing offshore wind power since 2007. It is expected that the country’s offshore wind power installed capacity will reach 5 million kilowatts by 2015, and 30 million kilowatts by 2020.
