Temiscaming, QC – Forest products company, Tembec, announced that it will build a pilot plant for the development of a high performance structural product known as Next Generation Sustainable Fibre. This project is based on a Tembec patented process that combines Forest Stewardship Council (“FSC”) certified pulp and FSC certified lignosulfonates with a modified phenolic resin to produce a structural material with unique strength-to-weight and durability characteristics.

CALGARY: TransAlta Corp. is moving ahead with construction of the 66-megawatt New Richmond wind project located on the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec. A decree was issued from the Quebec government March 25 allowing TransAlta to begin pre-construction work in April. Commercial operations are to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012.
